Filmmakers Arwa Aburawa and Turab Shah, founders of the Brent-based project Other Cinemas, present a newly commissioned film, ‘I Carry it With Me Everywhere’, at Design Works in Harlesden.

Installed in the Brent Biennial Visitor’s Hub at Metroland Studio in Kilburn, Araeen’s ‘Reading Room’ (2016-ongoing) consists of the artist’s signature seating and table structures housing the first 100 issues of ‘Third Text’.

Artist and choreographer Alex Baczynski-Jenkins presents a new iteration of his ongoing film work, ‘You are a guest now’, at the Arches, Kilburn.

The ‘Proposal for a House Museum of an Unknown Crying Man’, Khaled’s installation at Metroland Studios in Kilburn, begins with a video tour of the house as it was installed at the villa of ARK Kültür cultural space in Istanbul, before giving way to the bedroom of the ‘Unknown Crying Man’.

Artist Zinzi Minott presents ‘Fi Dem I-V’, a durational moving image project and continued investigation into Blackness and Diaspora.

A newly commissioned installation by Shenece Oretha that spotlights the sounds and stories of multifunctional community spaces, including those of the tabernacle’s past, of other spaces in Brent and those of the artist’s own personal history within London community halls.

Artist Katarzyna Perlak presents her new commission, ‘darning and other times’ at St Matthew’s Church, Willesden, inviting conversations to form between queer and Catholic aesthetics, and folk practices.

Artist, illustrator and zine-maker Mohammed Zaahidur Rahman’s commissioned series of paintings, titled ‘Unfurnished’, is both a visual folk history and a dreamscape of migrants making homes in Britain.

Sarah Rose’s ‘An Open Letter of Many Replies’ at Roundwood Park, Harlesden, considers the permeability of borders and the queer ecologies that thive beneath, between and through enclosure.

Artist Sadia Pineda Hameed presents four billboard artworks as part of her commission, featuring interconnected conversations that bring together moments of recognition and rupture between languages, cultures and generations.

Metroland Cultures presents Making The Room Sing, a commission by artists Amanda Camenisch and Therese Westin developed in collaboration with a group of women from the Asian Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) based in Harlesden, Brent.

Metroland Cohort: Peer-to-Peer, our new bi-annual artist support programme. This ten-session group learning programme and bursary aims to support artists to sustain and grow their practice, while simultaneously encouraging them to become part of the wider creative ecology of Metroland Cultures and the borough of Brent.
